Jewish hospice care is a great way to care for yourself or a loved one when nearing the end of life. The Nancy Caroline Hospice of the Upper Galilee is located in Northern Israel. Although located in Israel, this hospice relies on our American Friends in order to provide care to all of our patients.
Hospice care is an alternate way of living for a person who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. It allows for the patient to continue to live in the comfort of his or her own home instead of alternative arrangements. For those who desire, they can still receive hospice care even if they do not wish to stay at home.
Hospice care provides many services for the patients. We have doctors that will work with the patient to alleviate any signs of pain that they are able to. This includes a patient coming to terms with a terminal illness. Along with this, the care provided includes that of the spirit. Many patients have a strong spiritual and traditional aspect of their everyday lives that are often not able to be continued once they discover that they have a terminal illness. Hospice care recognizes that spiritual well-being plays a large roll in the comfort levels and acceptance levels of our patients. We spend as much time as we are able to learning about each patient's customs and beliefs in order to provide these same comforts later on in the patient's illness, when the patient may not be able to do as much as he or she was previously capable of.
Another part of hospice care is the inclusion of family and friends. The care for family and friends is much like that given to the patient in that the hospice will try to help them come to terms with a loved one's terminal illness. Hospice care also allows for family members to help care for their loved ones who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
Essential what hospice care offers is a unique and specialized type of care for patients that are suffering from severe, chronic, and life-threatening illnesses as well as care for their families. We aim to help people of all ages that are affected by grief and loss in these situations. We also are here to help those concerned with issues relating to the end of life. This unique blend of skills and compassion are available to help patients and their families cope with terminal illnesses and learn how to live each day with comfort and dignity. This allows patients to retain control over their lives when they feel like they have no control as well as allowing patients and their loved ones to discover meaning and purpose in their lives.
